Good evening folks. It's Friday evening...and we're in the computer lab. What are y'all doing?? The highlight of this past week, well actually last weekend, was eating at an authentic Ethiopian restaurant in downtown Richmond. It was quite an experience! There were ten of us total. We all ordered different things and ate 'family style.' We had two giant bowls that were lined with injera (traditional Ethiopian bread). A variety of meats and vegetables are placed in clumps on top of the injera. The food is eaten by tearing pieces of the injera with the right hand and using it as a utensil. It also serves to soak up all the juices and grease...now that part is real yummy! Injera is pretty economical because it serves as a spoon, plate, and food. We were told that that was more than likely the best Ethiopian meal we would have! Although it was a nice outing, we have decided to wait until we get overseas to try it again. We have a lot more things we would like to share with you all...but since we're top secret level III and all...you have to call or email us :) We have begun to learn the language on our own with the help of a cd and book. It sounds like gibberish, but it's fun.

Oh yes- we found out that our internet connection will be very slow in our country, so more than likely skype will not be a possibility :( We'll have to revert back to the old-fashioned letter writing :)
